- The Project’s title is — The Asymmetrical Self
- I chose two garments from my closet, these are the clothes I am not wearing anymore.
- The first one- one that I use for pattern making, is a Zhongshan suit
- The second one – one that I use for deconstruction, is a skirt, both the garments are purchased from the thrift shop called search and destroy
- I chose a suit and a skirt because both have different shapes and amount of fabrics thus I think it would be interesting to have such a combination
- The most time-consuming part of this project is to use the scissor and trimmer to deconstruct the garment to a piece of fabric
- the most interesting part is to add the design with the left-over part of the fabric
- Overall, I am not satisfied with the outcome because it is not something I would wear, and it does not match with my aesthetics.
- However, From this project, I still learned the basic skill of constructing a fabric based on a specific pattern, this is a brand new experience for me.
