- What themes emerged in your dress practice log?
The themes emerged in my dress practice log are monochrome and high-waist chic. I love the style of 80’s and 90’s French style. It’s minimal and sophisticated. I believe “less is more”, the colors of my everyday outfit never over three colors. I often wear monochrome of beige or brown that look simple but elegant.
- What did you notice about daily dress practice that you hadn’t noticed before?
Through the daily dress practice I noticed that the what I pick to everyday it is depends on my mood. Especialy on Monday, I always choses to wear black, which is a dark color day in Parsons. Sometime, the entire class is wearing black. I’m more concentrate doing my work when I am wearing black because it gives a professional sense and imply other people that I need be alone working.
- How did the dress practice log impact your understanding of the relationship between clothing and the body?
There definitely has a relationship between clothing and the body. Clothing is a tool to show or cover the advantage or disadvantage of my body. For most of petite girl like me, showing the body proportion is very important. I have some tips that how I wear to cover my disadvantage: always appear longer; create a flattering silhouette; and avoid boxyness.
