Curiosity Journal Day 2

As I sat in my room thinking about what I want to do and where did I want to go, I couldn’t stop staring at my cousin preparing for her exam. I have always been very attached to her and have found a lot of inspiration from her. Going through my list I hear my uncle shout from his room “Hey Tiny! Come out for lunch!” Tiny, a name attached to her due to her petite height. She and I on a daily basis sat together to watch all the fashion shows admiring tall and beautiful models, flaunting their flawless figures and their unbreakable confidence.

A thin waist, Amazonian height, and prominent cheekbones! These are the standards that originated from the fashion industry and a society that celebrates appearances more than internal beauty.

A slim waist, perfect sky screaming height and impeccable cheekbones. Something found very common in the fashion industry which in today’s world has grown upon our society. Here people look for appearance than a beautiful heart.

All her childhood due to various health problems she could never be a tall girl who could wear a splendid party dress or tight jeans. I remember every time we went shopping even as a 16-year-old, we had found her a set of jeans from the children’s collection. Our family worked out all the possible solutions from medicines to hormone injections to yoga but nothing worked. Yet I always saw her happy and proud of herself. It is inspiring how she never let her friends get her too worked up about it or bring down her confidence.

And this led me to believe that fashion does not bring out someone’s personality, it doesn’t change the person but it is the person who makes it the art.
