For my final project, I created a book consisting of the combination of hand-crafting and hand-stitching. By altering the size of carved-out hexagons and the number of threads being used, I intend to convey what is my comprehension for the theme of “Time”. As the readers flip through the pages of the book, the carved-out hexagons get smaller and smaller, whilst the number of threads increases and gets more congregated. I used hand-stitching to bind the pages of the book together using white threads, so that the book can become an accordion-styled book and be laid out on the table for presentation.
