Life Cycle of a Makeup Brush

  • domesticate or breed goats/sables to have a controlled number of animals instead of hunting in the wild that could lead to their extinction or decline in population.
  • Shave the goats/sable at the area that they are hunted in ie. Russia, China, Siberia, Nothern Mongolia
  • Do not hunt these animals If they are low in population in a certain area, so some countries would be banned
  • Process the fur in the same area so that they do not need to be shipped off to a facility (possibly china) where they have to be cleaned
  • Cut the fur in the same place where they were hunted to save all that fossil fuel!!
  • Now ship to the facility where they will be handled by the makers
  • For the ferrule: mine in an area, but if trees are cut down , plant trees in an old mining area that is not in use anymore
  • Process the bauxite in the same area and make it into aluminum
  • Instead of using electricity and fossil fuels at the facilities, use natural energy such as wind or hydro.
  • Ship the aluminum by boat since It use the least amount of energy
  • For the wooden handle; instead of cutting down new trees, use recycled wood material
  • If using new trees, cut down older trees so that younger trees are still allowed to grow
  • Roll out the bristles by hand and walk it over to the other side of the room instead of using a conveyer belt
  • The parts of the bristle that are trimmed off, keep so that they can be used for other products
  • Reuse the plastic that holds the bristles together before the ferrule is added
  • If the ferrule does not fit, then hammer it down, but don’t throw it awy or melt it down
  • Use glue that has been made from leftover waste
  • Avoid using airplanes to ship materials to the store
  • Put them together in a box in one plastic bag not each individual bags and then in one big bag
  • Fill the order into one box if possible
  • At the store have them be placed in a clean area so that they do not need more packaging
