Time_Collage

What is time? How do people measure it? I made this collage piece with 4 leaves I picked up on the street and on the trees and with eyes drawn in different styles.

I think there is not an objective mechanism to measure time which is still too abstract a concept for the current technology level of human. Our ways of perceiving time varies from person to person subjectively. Our way of measuring time, such as days, months, and years, are all based on the human observation. A day is the time between sun rises in relative to the place where human live; a month is the time between the shade of the moon, relative to human, appears; and a year is the time between the first bud comes out. I was thinking about the trivial stuffs like how many works to do, which device to charge, and what to eat for dinner, but suddenly the cracking yellow leaves on the ground along with some still green ones came into my vision, making me realise that summer is already far away, and I have been in this city of a month now. I placed the drawing of my own eye that does not express any emotion in the middle to express that this is all my personal impression of time. However, the twelve other eyes form a clock around it, just like all kinds of different people are observing time, in relative to themselves, all the time.
