Statement:

This project focus on transferring still-life drawing into the digital world, which means using Photoshop to beautify the original still-life drawing. I found this really interesting because I learned how to use Photoshop before so it was really fun and exciting. During most part of this project, I use the tool called “magic wand” from Photoshop to select the area that I want to change from my still-life drawing, then I will make a mask of the layer in order to only change the part that I want. In the beginning, it was kind of hard when I tried to select the area that I want because some of them could not be defined as regular shapes, but after I really got into it, it became easier and more interesting. It was also excited when I learned about using the “brush” tool from Photoshop because I can make different changes on layers. I also did changes on different brushes, therefore, brushes could look distinct from their original shapes. I thought that was really fun too. I also found interesting after I created my own palette for the still-life drawing because it is much more convenient when I tried to select the color that I want. I saw a strong contrast between using color palette and building collage from the painting, and this really gives me new ideas about how comparisons developed fashion and designs.

I really love this project because even though I’m not good at drawing, my skills and techniques from using Photoshop really helped me to beautify my still-life drawing. It gives me a different perspective when I looked at my still-life drawing and I thought it will be helpful in my future drawings.
