Reflection:

I really enjoyed this class during my first semester at Parsons. This class not only helped me to improve my writing skills but also broaden my perspective in the fashion and design fields. I’m thankful that professor Carter is kind and helpful, and my classmates are easy to work with. I remembered there is one of the projects that we did which is called the “invisible cities”, and we have to make a booklet for a place in New York City. This project really helped me to look at the place that I spent a lot of time with, and I learned more information about New York City since this is my first year at Parsons. This was also a really interesting way to practice our teamwork skills because we had to work as a group in order to overcome challenges together so that we could really understand what’s the meaning of group work.

I think what I really learned throughout this semester in this class is how to transform my ideas and researches into artifacts. It’s always important to show people your thoughts about every project which makes the artifact become meaningful. I really improved my writing skills not only because I’ve been to the “Learning Center” a couple of times but also all the exercises that we did during class. I’m glad to say that this is one of the favorite class overall, and I really hope I could apply skills that I learned from this class into works in the future.
