Newton Creek field trip

It was a very interesting experience going to the Newtown Creek of the Department of Environmental Protection during class time. I was actually very surprised by how the government is helping to save the environment and it was very productive to see how the facility actually works. The lady who was our tour guide gave us the introduction of the DEP and I was very impressed with the water usage in our daily life. During the introduction, she asked about how many gallons of water does a person use in our daily life. She showed us how big the water bottle would be of a gallon of water and she told us that a person usually uses 120 gallons of water per day which is an enormous number for me. I think this result really makes to reflect on the water usage of my daily life. I never thought about how much water would I use per day and sometimes we all take water for granted. After the introduction, the lady took us to saw machines that are working for collecting and cleaning the water in New York City. I think the design of the eggs was very interesting and I really enjoyed interacting with it. I think this trip was very meaningful and I learned a lot through the process.
