Time: “City Talks” Street Poetry

Collection of street text:

When photographing street text, I was more aware of my surroundings. It was important for me to find text that represented the vibe and energy of the city and capture interesting and fun text.

Final Poems:

After, I decided to create poems that, for me, represented the energy of the city around the time of the Women’s March back in January. I wanted to make the poems punchy, rhythmic, and optimistic similar to the parade chants that I heard.

The third poem, which I focused on the most, centers around this underlying message of hope and inclusiveness. I decided to take this poem develop it into a video that captured the feeling I was going for.
