Statement

Is there something in this world that makes you feel safe? Like when you are feeling the worst and you reach for it. All of a sudden, the worst feelings disappear and you feel like you are fixed, balanced, reborn again. The same feeling applies to me and band-aids. Band-aids are not just a patch made out of cotton and plastic. It has meanings. It aims to protect and heal. The color of it was designed to blend into our skin. The holes on it were made to let our skin breath.

In a city as busy as New York, emotions come and go as quickly as our feet. Our brain is constantly telling us to “Walk, walk faster, exceed the person in front of you and don’t stop because people will hate you.”. Then our legs keeps on speeding and trudging. We don’t realize at all that a part of us is being teared and consumed as if it’s fair to do so. And we don’t regret it until that “Damn it” after experiencing the most annoying pain and seeing that red, teared heel.

It’ll be wonderful only if we treat our body parts as gentle and delicate as our faces. Why didn’t band-aids come in well-crafted forms? As our identities changes throughout the years of growing up, band-aids need to change too.

Here I made a variety of band-aids suitable for multiple races, genders and cultures. They will make everyone feel safe.
