Part of Thesis Statement: Although NYFW is taking pride in being the most diverse fashion week yet, women of color are not being adequately represented in fashion shows in United States.
Women of Color: All women of non-white heritage
My project aims to raise attention of the inadequate diversity in the fashion industry, especially the white-favoring runway. It raised my attention every time I watch fashion shows online. A large number of outfits are worn and presented by white models. Colored models are of a very small percentage of the shows. As an asian female, I rarely feel included. Since U.S population has had more variety than before, it is time for fashion shows to incorporate more models of color.
