Kobumcha leather journal

I picked up the kobumcha leather kit from the making center store and started brewing my black tea.

After adding sugar and boiling

Cooled to room temperature, I poured it into the container and carefully placed the scoby in. It smells like a strong version of sour dough. 

 

1 Week Later

It seems that there is a thick layer of leather forming on top of the liquid

3 weeks later

The leather seems to grow A LOT thicker. I also observed a strangely colored object in the middle. Because of the strong smell, I didn’t look at it for too long.
