Photo Essay Proposal: Materialism

I would like to do my photo essay on the concept of materialism. It’s become such a widespread phenomenon in the 21st century, and it’s especially relatable coming from a generation of nouveau riche Chinese teenagers. I think New York City is also a great place to capture this theme, with the famed luxury of locations like Fifth Avenue, the Upper East Side, and its reputation as a fashion capital. I have some ideas for concept shots, and I will also go to the Fifth Avenue and Upper East Side to gain inspiration and capture potential moments.
