Part of Body I Focus On When Avoiding Eye Contact

My drawing was altered by line subtraction and manipulation: this process made me think about ways to convey my whole idea in a more graphically concise way. The line subtraction forced me to pinpoint the feelings I wanted to portray rather than a picture that’s true to the original form. Therefore, I feel my drawing has now become more of an abstract message, one that is inspired by nervousness, acting/hand puppets, and fidgeting movements. The relationship between my messages originated in my first iteration when I chose to place eyes and a mouth on my hands.  The intention was to group all of my most used forms of expression together,  to put forth a synchronized message of disinterest (to the onlooker). My perspective of my hands is that they convey emotions through their position, without requiring many contexts for interpretation. Part of the reason that I feel this way is because hand gestures and movements are virtually a universal expression of language.
