Part 1 – Multiple Perspectives

My team included Elena Marshall, Ashley Song, Lynn-Sacha Hanna and myself. For part 1, my team and I decided to re-create a tomb as a tour of Les Pères Lachaise. Inside the tomb we put our most essential objects or objects that represents each and everyone of us or the person we present ourselves as.

In order to make the tomb, first, we decided to recycle a cardboard box and use glue gun to glue it from the sides and concentrate on the strength of the box. Although, as the box was not neat and didn’t seem finished so, we chose to use laser cutter to cut the wood and construct the wood pieces into a box that was made into a tomb.

While deciding on the design of the boxes, we chose to have a rectangular shaped cut on one end so that the audience can have a look at the objects from outside through the rectangular whole.

Once the box was properly cut and glued and dried, we spray painted the box. We chose to spray paint it white as it presents the purity of 4 souls combined into one body.

The four objects that we chose to put were:

Elena Marshall: a turtle made form clay

Ashley Song: a flower that consists of some space for a candle

Lynn-Sacha Hanna: a paint brush

Me: a jar that is filled with ashes and covered with a red fabric

In a way, each object presented a religion.

Feedback: It can be presented in a different manner, it could consists of different forms of fragrance. We could make it bigger or portray the idea of 4 souls in a different format. Have a more focus on the 4 souls one body and connect each object in a better way.
