The concept of our dream POV project was based on your hidden self, the parts of you that you tried to hide but could be embraced to better you as a person. The specific attribute we decided on was anxiety. We came up with the idea of the hidden self chasing the self you try to portray. Our pastiche was mainly Harmony Korine and Miranda July. Personally, the pastiche of Harmony Korine is expressed in the setting of NYC and the concept/storyline. Miranda July is expressed color-wise and with the concept being introspective.
For this project, I had the director/actor role. However, as we got further in, the director role was more shared with Mariel. Taline was the editor, Taylour point person, and Maxine made the presentation. Overall, I think the collaboration went well. I think communication was sometimes hard but it was no one’s fault really. I think the nature of the different roles and the number of people in the group contributed to that. In the end, everything came together, and I’m very happy with our final product.
