For my cliche project, I really wanted to go with the idea of the “American Dream” as a cliche. I wanted to focus on how it is most often associated with middle class white families and how the concept as a whole is problematic. I chose to highlight other cultures, races, and personal expression by placing images of typical “American Dream” type families under something totally different. I want to highlight how this way of thinking is ultimately ostracizing and noninclusive. With this being just a draft, I could expand it to more photos … but I might end up changing more than that.
