The idea of filming only the personal objects without zooming out and showing the space as a whole, is to show the interior and hidden insights of the person portrayed. The effect of warm colours, in the video, is to give a sense of warmth, family and should transmit positive energy to the viewers. During the interview, I got to learn which ones are her favourite songs and, accordingly to the objects filmed and the side of her personality that struck me the most, I chose to include the song “Brain” by Banks. I believe that this song was fully completing the video and giving it a deeper meaning to the portrait as a whole.
For the next phase, I will make the videos of the objects that are more important play more than once so that the viewer can clearly get a sense of the essential attachments of the person portrayed. Moreover, I will change the orientation of the video and this will become landscape, so that it gives a broader immersion into the objects. Lastly, instead of choosing only one of her favourite songs, I will take extracts from various ones, so each one can represents better and become part an integral part of the video, maximising the understanding of the person through the environmental portrait.
