Inspiration

For my final project, I wanted to concentrate on a sound instillation that portrays the sound of million years in couple of seconds. I used the audio from “Big Bang Acoustics: Sounds From the Newborn Universe by Mark Whittle. At first I wanted to concentrate on just the sound of the future, however, over consecutive number days on working with the sound piece, I came up with the idea to make a sculpture that correlates to the sound. I used extension springs to dramatize the base of the sculpture, which is an attachment from a camera tripod. With the sculpture and sound piece, I was looking into the future by interpreting it in my own terms. However, overtime, I came to the realization that neither the past or the future exist, it is the present that has an impact on us and how we evolve as human beings.
