Life as a Sequel
The everyday life of everyday people
Changes with experience, not with age.
Life is not a continuum, it is a sequel,
Giant books with every emotion on a new page.
The heavier the books become,
The harder it is to remember
In what chapter you last hugged you mum
Didn’t write it on the calendar.
Although I am happy now,
I cannot stop myself from thinking of past and future pages
Each representing me at a certain moment somehow
Lists of feelings, thoughts, all life stages.
Everything is temporary;
My joy for life, smiles and tears.
Because tomorrow, I know is time for a new scenery.
I am just awaiting for the mounds of years,
Books that I’ll have to carry everywhere,
Chapters representing my daily actions,
Pages reenacting small interactions,
Paragraphs of all reactions,
Sentences composed of small distractions,
Words showing little satisfactions;
All here to sum up my life, bare.
