HW #1 – Food Sculpture

IN THE LIGHT:

WITHOUT LIGHT W/ FIRE:

I decided to make a sculpture out of bread and whatever else I could find because the bread is malleable and easy to shape into whatever I want. I decided to use the stove as my sculpture area because I wanted to play with the lighting using the lit stove. I used the cans in my kitchen to give my sculpture height so the straws don’t get burned by the the fire (in my previous attempt while making the sculpture one of the straws melted). I used the bread to help stick the straws into place and ended up with a lopsided tower of sorts. To finish it off I put one slice of bread on top to test the strength of the straws and then took pictures (of both the sculpture in the light and in the dark with the flames of the stove). Right after taking my picture the bread on the top fell through onto the flames.

Honestly the light did not add anything interesting to the sculpture but it was fun to test it out.
