Analysis of Structure and Representation: Disruption, Equality and Inclusion in Art and Design

  1. Performance Art in the public can be seen as a form of disruption. As it takes up space in the public to deliver a certain message to the public; it is a form of freedom of speech. Normally, we walk down a busy street and we stumble upon a crowd looking over each other’s shoulders to try to appreciate or detest the show. As some artists entertain, but there are always those who are out to make a statement. They can be visually appealing and aesthetically pleasing. They can manipulate their stage: the lights, the sound, and most importantly their audience. People who walk by cannot ignore the fact that there is a large crowd, which is an example of disruption of the norm of a shopping street. Performance Art does not affect me unless there are musically instruments involved. These outgoing exhibitionists distract us from what we were/are planning to do. They redirect us to spend some time with what they are doing.
  2. Equality never seems to be truly achievable in the art world. Advertisements, Commercials, Propagandas, Artworks, and etc. are all forms of art. It is very rare not have some bias in each medium. The message can be a upbraid to a group of people or some criticism, which makes art unequal. Further, not all art can be perceived by the audience and there will always be someone who will not understand something. Art is not equal in the fact that we need to look at proper art in a museum with an entrance fee. We could make the statement that everything is art. When I look at a artwork, I ponder who is behind this masterpiece, was the artist’s life same with other artists? This question is to address how and why each artwork is made. Some art are made for specific people where the general public will not be able to view.
  3. The art and design method I prefer is the digital method. To get my ideas going, I generally get inspired by anything that can be a form of illusion or a mystery. I believe inclusion of different materials is probably the hardest for what I prefer to do. The dream work for me is definitely going to google. After working with them, one of the best ways to have people experience working at google is to definitely make a vlog channel or I can make short comic strips of my daily life. The visual representation would be the most crucial way to document working at Google. This would be utilizing less of the design aspect of graphic design but it surely uses Design Thinking. Design Thinking will foster customer care and get more audience or customers who would be willing to invest in an artist. Equality is shown through what we aspire to share with others through our art is the mutual understanding of the art work. If an artist conceals all of his/her ideas or artworks, it would be unequal for the rest of the world because in essence, only the artist will ever get to understand the true meaning behind an artwork.
