Activating the Personal Object, with Cultural Context in Digital Space

Working with Photoshop to fill the Still Life image with different elements to include values of shadows and light was not simple. The painting I chose has mostly dark values and similar color scheme. The brush work was rather easier because there were no limits to what will be the content in the white shapes. In the final combination Still Life piece, I decided to add some effects into the work, where the iPad stand was distorted, alongside the water bottle. I incorporated this effect in order to exemplify the fairness brought by photoshopping an image. Although this photoshop is never meant to imitate a real life image, but it is still a form of manipulation of a photo.

My process of developing the original still life drawing is quite different than others because I used the pen tool to create a much more complicated drawing, otherwise using fill, gradient, collage, the entire image seemed flat and boring.
