Live Model or Figure Drawing is truly an amazing experience. I have worked with nude models before, but I worked primarily with models with clothes on. Given 2 sessions to finesse a drawing yields work I’ve never done before. Not to mention we had to work with acrylic paint, which I have only worked with pencil before. The short poses were a rush against time, which I did enjoy until we did several rounds to the point I had an extra few seconds left to work on the poses. The longer poses felt short as well because we are so focused on my paintings, time flew by fast. I definitely prefer the longer poses because the painting seems more complete. Understanding the figure and the human anatomy is crucial to any major in my opinion, since we are humans, it would be impossible to detach from human drawings in the future.
