In search of Intersubjective Vistas – Lost Room

The inspiration, as seen through the optical illusion of space, is by M.C. Escher. I created these images through illustrator and later used photoshop to add gradients and effects to distort to add gradients. The process was just instinctive; I just went with the flow and the color choices were not chosen specifically, rather just testing out different colors as I was creating the image with pen tool.

FINAL PROJECT: Lost Room

The final project is called “Lost Room”. I am creating a narrative of exploring the unknown. In this case I want this piece to explore a room that has been locked for a long time and the only way we can see the inside is through the keyhole. The room is a replica of a dream I once had. The main concept I’m using is “Dissolving the Wall” through creating a key hole and through that hole, we can see the “Lost Room”.

The process was to create a simple room and then replicate it to create a sense of “lost”. I framed my Lost Room with a keyhole cut out from a foam board and I stick both sides of the foam board together to create a actually keyhole that can be seem through both sides. After so I applied glow in the dark paint on basic structure to brighten the lighter parts of the building.

I was lost,

Behind closed doors.

Struggling,

Still Locked.

Locked,

Pierce of Light.

Lost Room,

Lost and Locked…
