Observational Drawings and Still-Life

The skull charcoal drawing was the most successful for me because I enjoyed working on the shading and playing with dark and light values. However, if I get the chance to, I would make the shadow of the skull much dark to emphasize the darkness and create a more darker atmosphere. The paper drawing made me concentrate on line value. It made me understand that you don’t need much shading, but instead, just focusing on the thickness/thinness of the line can make the drawing pop. I want to work on proportion and perspective for still life because I don’t want my drawing to lie. I also want to work on my line value so I can create a simple, yet an intriguing image.
