CTS1: Shirt Project

At first, I learned how to make a basic shirt with basic elements of a shirt. For example, how to make a collar, collar stand, a pocket,  a yoke, cuff, and a placket. It was lots of information in a little amount of time. After I learned basic techniques and applied into the muslin, then I got donated fabric from my professor and I could get one yard of my own fabric.

I got one yard of cotton pink stripe from New York Elegant Fabrics. Because my own shirt design has different lengths of bodice, and also the wide cuffs, so I needed good amount of fabrics. Also the point of my design is the treatment on the yoke, which makes my shirt unique and different from a regular shirt. In addition, not only the length of each panel of the bodice is different, but also they go once horizontal, and vertical. Hence, they create this crazy dizzy stripe shirt.

These are some pictures of my final garment. The detail shots show the treatment of a yoke, collar and collar stand, seam line, and hem.
