Sustainable Mask

For this assignment, I was asked to make a mask that focused on an environmental issue. Therefore, I chose to explore air and water pollution.

In one look, this mask just looks like an ordinary plastic and paper material but its hold great meaning behind such a simple piece. Through this mask I want to send across the message of how environmental pollution is causing us trouble and has become an invisible layer of destruction. Even though paper is a breathable material plastic makes it suffocate to breathe, the same way our earth is now filled with so much pollution that even when it is still a breathable place to be it is slowly leading towards destruction which is invisible to us. Not only that we are now surrounded by such a thick layer of pollution on land and in water that it is slowly becoming inevitable to escape the situation and people now feel trapped even when in open spaces. It’s as if everyone has chosen to close their eyes and assume that if they can’t see the problem the problem will not affect them.
