Eight Manifestations of Padmasambhava
The piece that represents past memories and future dreams in my opinion, is the statute of the “Eight Manifestations of Padmasambhava”. The sculpture depicts the “eight different positions of Guru Padmasambhava”. Instantly, the different positions of the figure are apparent. They’re physically arranged in a circular movement. The main reason this piece captures the essence of past and future, is due to the circular pattern. Personally, I find that life is a cycle, which is mainly presented in circles (hence the word). The movement of figures in revolving forms shows the past and future no matter where you look. There is always a figure in front or behind, to me it represents this never-ending cycle. The main statue in the middle symbolizes the present. This is my visual depiction of the piece.
