Making A Monster: Addiction

Intent: The intent of this piece was to show the viewer the darker side of addiction that we don’t always see. Our contemporary culture has been romanticizing a substantial amount of drug use lately, and I want to show that it starts out fun and games, until addiction takes over your entire life. I have seen it happen far too many times, once you’ve given into the drug, there is almost never a turning back. You become as good as dead.

Medium/Composition: I wanted the piece to mimic a 60’s public service announcement against drug use, which is why I used two art boards. The color scheme I used was more for my personal aesthetic.
