For this one piece outfit, I created a two part dress.

I took influence from Indian lehengas. Traditional wedding wear is usually composed of these two piece sets that make a one piece. They typically use muslin and embroidered material.

For my particular piece, I wanted to create a very minimalist style two piece outfit inspired by these Indian sets.

The process started with preliminary sketches and moved over to pattern making experimentation. I used a sturdy black fabric, created the cutouts, and manipulated the shape through a try-on process.
