Time Final Recut

After completing the rotoscope animations I really wanted to continue on that theme. I found creating animations was very relaxing although very time consuming.  My partner India and I had very similar interests in terms of wanting to represent women and their work which has progressed and changed our society’s perspective on feminism and women as a collective whole. We decided to collaborate on the project, bringing our ideas together for both the sequential recut and the book project. Our recut takes the audience through the outlined portraits of five women whom we believe to be extremely influential to us personally, and to the world around us. The choice to outline the portraits and the women’s fine lines, clothing, hair is a symbol for the hardship that these women have faced in order to have their voices heard. We decided to include the women speaking in interviews and important messages they gave as the portraits are being traced. Overall, Leer and I were very happy with our recut and our book project as they were cohesive with each other, giving each context to each other.
