Self-timer progress

Finalised the idea for the acrylic panel installation. The idea is to explore the passing of time through a collection of memories. As I was brainstorming the idea, I realised that it links into my idea of the siginifance of memories to myself- I believe that we are who we are as a result of the accumulation of memories. Therefore, my installation will be a photography installation where each picture will be of the same place but together and looked through will create a whole. Representing the idea of me being made up of a collection of my experiences, people I’ve met, things I’ve seen, etc.

I also came up with a few ideas for where to do the photoshoot:

-Walking in a field/ park- allows me to explore nature and trees to portray growth and change but it would also be an easier way to create that effect of ‘acumulating into one whole’ for my installation.

-On a busy road- this would show the passing of time but also present how time can feel both dynamic and static depending on the memory or situation.

-At Coney Island beach- I could explore and show how water is similar to time, continuous and ever moving. How the sea is uncontrollable by us like how we can not affect time either.

-Under the rain- depicts time as uncontrollable and dynamic. Rain has also always had special significance to me being from Dubai and makes me feel like time is passing by slower.
