For this project, we have to create something to represent a timeline. My idea is to combine digital video manipulation with sculptures. This piece will consist of 3 sculptural heads, each showing the process of aging, either through increase decay or number of plants (growth). 3 sculptures seem to be the most realistic given the amount of time we have for this assignment. Each sculpture will also be hollow, with the back of the head open and eyes carved out, this is to allow my video/ film to be able to be projected through- showing three different stages in a lifetime.
I will film the three videos, likely using someone else as the actor. The style I am aiming for for the video is a documentary style old film.
An alternative idea in case this one does not work is to make one big sculpture with the back of the head carved out too but the film will be projected into the head- to create an installation where the audience is looking into the sculpture’s mind and watching her ‘timeline’.TIMELINE pitch
