Whitney Museum Portrait exhibition

In class we were asked to go to the Whitney museum in order to look at the different types of portraits artists have created. I really enjoyed the ones that had a more abstract take in their work because I believe portraits not only have to show a face but a story.

I believe there is not a right way to portray a person. While looking at the exhibition, I thought the following statement shown in the picture was really interesting.
