Teaching A Skill – Image Transfer on Fabric

As a skill of mine, I decided to demonstrate how printed images on paper could be transferred onto any type of fabric using only citrasolv, a sponge and a bone folder in only six easy steps. All that is required to be done is reverse the images before being printed and placing them face down on the piece of fabric. Using a sponge, spread a small amount of citrasolv onto the back of the paper while placed on the fabric, and using a bone folder stroke the paper both vertically and horizontally. After smoothening the paper, gently peel it off and allow the transferred image on the fabric to dry.

When teaching this skill to my classmates, it went very well. It is an easy process and when it is demonstrated step by step, there is almost really no room to make a major mistake. For that reason, everything turned out according to the plan. However one thing that should have been clearer was the amount of citrasolv spread on the paper. One of the images turned out a little smudged because an excess amount was added.
