Visual Culture – Sketchbook

For the sketchbook task, I decided to focus on visual culture found on the streets when walking to class, or to grab some food or on the way to my friend’s apartment on 6th Ave. When making it a point to notice these advertisements, storefronts and logos, I realised the unimaginable amount of visual culture that we are exposed to in a day. They all have one thing in common, besides sending out certain messages, which is the manipulation, persuasion and attraction that audiences are bare to. Through colors, images and certain diction, these advertisements have the power over people and the ability to determine the way people make their choices.
