Make-a-Thon Reflection

Make-a-Thon Reflection

I arrived at the idea to make self portraits in the style of Egon Schiele, because I wanted to explore the subject of self portraits in my essay, and I have admired Schiele’s drawings for a while now. I had come up with this idea previously, and this assignment became the perfect opportunity to execute it. I tend to always use myself as the subject of my art. It’s not on purpose, it just happens that way. I am the subject I know best, but understand the least, so I guess that the reason I use myself as the subject so frequently is because I am attempting to learn more about myself, and how I can represent myself. Through this process I learned that I can represent my self in a lot of ways, and even if that representation doesn’t exactly look like me, it is still me because I said so.
