Final Projects

STUDENT NAME: Tori Luo

FINAL PROJECT  TITLE: I Cook for myself

1) What is your final project concept? What is one specific action or object have you observed or enacted over the two months that you hope will continue until 2030 because of the resulting system’s effects —making life more sustainable, joyful, and/or meaningful? What did you make with the intent to remember/and or continue practicing for another ten years?

My final project concept is about how my eating habit has changed. I was ordering most of my meals on takeout apps, but I have changed my food consumption to buy groceries and cook for myself. I am planning to keep my habit of cooking for myself continuously.  And I made a little comic video as a little reminder to myself to warn me of how unsustainable that ordering take-outs will be.

2) What media did you use and why?  Given what you have learned in class this semester, did you make different choices or take different actions that make your project and its production more sustainable?

I used video as the media to convey my opinions and findings. I think I will remember to delete my video that is going to be posted to save energy.

3)  Systems Map as PDF.  Include at least 30 systems, illustrating how your chosen topic or project effects and involves various systems over 10 years (with a special emphasis on air, water, materials, and energy). Include a key for your map explaining what certain colors or shapes communicate, and how you have highlighted the systems that need to be redesigned to enable this design to become more sustainable and/or last another ten years.

Important things to think about are highlighted in red color. Energy and pollution that were costed and created in the system are in purple color.
