- The general objective of the project?
- I plan to showcase the changes in popular fashion and hairstyle trends throughout the 1950’s (may change this date) through today specifically in the black community and try to see if there is a connection to between events going on during that time.
- What inspires your project?
- Recently I’ve been pondering how much of an effect significant events during a certain time period have on trends of how people showcase themselves.
- I saw a video on Instagram that showed hairstyles of the black community (masculine and feminine) from the 10’s until the 2010’s and that’s what made me want to choose this group of people specifically.
- The type of research will your project require.
- I will need to research popular hairstyle and fashion trends for African Americans in the recent decades.
- I will also have to look for events that rippled throughout the Black community (like the beating of Don King, or the death of Tupac, or the message of MLK Jr.) during each era to see if I think there is a correlation between those events and trends or not.
- How you will physically execute the project:
- What medium will you work in?
- Still considering this but I’m considering some kind of stop motion film where I’m using a photograph of the same person throughout but I am changing things (clothes, jewelry, and hair using paint (maybe not) and/or other photos and/or magazines and/or print outs) on the person to show the change in style. I think I will also use sound in the back to go with each era.
- What equipment will you need?
- Camera, paint, magazines, possible sound recorder
- How much time do you think you will need to complete the project?
- Idk…
- What techniques or strategies from this class will you employ?
- Photography, video with Audition, possibly sound
- What is the final result? How do you intend to display the work for final class?
- I intend to play the stop motion video for the class and bring in the final piece (which will be of today’s era).

- To show my moments of reflection by using my actual thoughts and some of the actions I do when I’m contemplating things in daily life.
- What inspires your project?
- I was inspired by previous project proposals in which I was showing my transformations that were spurred through self-reflection so I decided to go back to the base of the idea and show my self-reflection.
- The type of research will your project require.
- None since it’s about myself.
- How you will physically execute the project: (What medium will you work in?)
- Through video and audio.
- What equipment will you need?
- Camera, tripod, and Zoom recorder.
- How much time do you think you will need to complete the project?
- I’m not sure.

- Video and sounds working together and the use of Audition and Premeire.
- What is the final result? How do you intend to display the work for final class?
- I intend to play the video.
