Assignment #11

Technical Drawings and Packet parts 2 & 3

Assignment: Using the technical drawings of the orthographic objects that you drew, complete a 3D form using bristol, cardboard, or chipboard.

These are the orthographic technical drawings that I did. It wasn’t that difficult except for the fact that it was a lot of work to do. You had to measure everything out and make sure that they were all the same and correct length. For the first drawing we had to convert everything from centimeters to inches which wasn’t difficult but I had to redo my drawing twice because of a mix up in the measurements and I jus butchered it completely. Before drawing these out on tracing paper, I drew them out in my sketchbook so that I could know the length of eachside before I drew anything out.

This is the 3D 0bject that I made looking at the 3rd orthographic technical drawing that I did. The 3D object was made to scale. It was a little difficult trying to get each shape to fit and match each other because I did cut out each piece individually. If I were to change something or do something differently if I were to do this again, I think instead of cutting out each shape, I would fold some, and just glue it down because a few people did that technique for their 3D shapes and it seemed to work a lot better.
