Assignment #12 – 3D Pattern/Textured cube

3D Pattern/textured cubes

Assignment: Make 3 cubes, all different sizes (2.5″, 4″, & 6″) out of cardboard and make patterns/textures on each sides of the cube

These are the cubes that I designed out of cardboard. They go from smallest scale, to largest in order of pictures. This assignment wasn’t difficult, but a lot of work and I enjoyed it either way. It was fun making different patterns into the cardboard, because the more I worked with it, the more I was able to do. For an example, at first I had the ribbed horizontal lines on the back of the cardboard all going horizontally, but I later figured that I could have them going diagonal if I just align them differently when I cut out the squares. Doing this helped the pattern on the cube look more interesting rather than the same as the other ones. One problem that I did faced is that I tried using the template and didn’t cut out each squares individually and when I folded its really difficult and didn’t stay together so cutting out each square was a lot easier and made the cube look more clean and better.
