Leyla Acaroglu: Paper beats plastic? How to rethink environmental folklore

Leyla Acaroglu talks about how paper isn’t always the better than plastic. They both equally have their own factors that impact the environment negatively. She talks about how we should do research on the things that we call “natural” and how most of the things that are considered to be natural are not even natural. The most natural thing that we can use are the things that are dumped at landfills because we are literally reusing and manipulating trash. She talks about designing products that are eco friendlier and helps use less of certain products.

Ergonomics and Design

This video talks about how we need to take into account the type of people we are designing certain things for. For an example, a table. We need to take into consideration for people of different heights, body width, age. We need take into consideration the tiniest things that we don’t ever think about. Such as the direction in which we turn a door knob or our posture in chairs.

By the People: Designing a better America

Basically the concept of the video is talking about making and designing things that are sustainable and better. For an example, designing houses that will be able to stand in floods, different weather patterns, etc. And designing different types of bikes that you can use no matter what the weather. That way, people will be more willing to use bikes than cars, which cause pollution and money.
