As a warmup for the fake ID project, we were asked to take out any random five objects that were on us and create a fake ID out of them. My objects were; earphones, ring, hand sanitizer, perfume, and lotion. As I observed my objects I found that the majority of them were objects that controlled my outer appearance which lead me to tackle this warmup symbolically. The earphones are a representation of the most unique part of my personality, yet the remainder of the objects alter my true identity on the daily (as represented in the words that were found on the products) and almost choke me (as represented in the placement of the ring). The ring covers the ‘u’ in the word beautiful, acting as a further representation of the loss of my identity.
