My Person is Diana Vreeland, place is Peckham, London and thing are gloves. I was inspired by Diana Vreeland when it comes to her innate sense of style, Peckham with the vibrant colours and gloves. I started off with envisoning and creating the ‘textile’, the colours were put down on the paper in a manner that conveys a dynamic emotion, bright colours had to be used due to the energy that Peckham has. The silhouette was exagerrated, created digitally, with a large veil/headpiece that frames the face, Diana having an extremely emotive features. The bodice is fitted to the body with an large feature/peplum at the waist to hip. This comes from the vibrant scene that peckham has and it felt appropriate for there to be an injection of volume in the look. The skirt is cut straight and isn’t fit tight due to the constant movement of people in Peckham, people are always about. The gloves have the same print/is made of the same fabric as the bodice.
