The idea of my screen is to use sun lights as my inspiration to created a screen which have gradient color and different shapes of rolls to simulate the sun lights. I want my screen not only beautiful but also very useful, therefore, each of those rolls have their own size, of course all of rolls are cylinder shape, some of them longer than others and some of them are shorter than others. they all tight together as a rectangular shape of screen. If it is a reality size screen, the rolls can be storage of books or other items. So basically what i did with my screen is just cut different color of paper into rectangle shape and than hand roll them as different sizes of cylinder. The materials that I used for this screen are five different colors of paperboard, which are: lemon yellow, champagne color, barley color, ivory color and ice white.
The first setback that i am faced was I’m after of to take off those frames which i hooked around my screen to give it balance, because i was worry about the screen would not stand by it self also afraid of change my design, although my classmates and teacher all like without the frame,but i was refused in the beginning. The second setback was for some reasons, I have to drawn my section, plan and elevation for three times. And those drawings really takes time to do it. therefore I spend lot times and effort into those drawings. Through this project, I learned a lot including how to do section, elevation and plan drawing, how to critic in class and started in touch with professional interior design knowledge, etc.
