Rei Kawakubu inspired my project. During research, I found out that red is one of her favorite colors, she used lots of red in her designs before. Also one of the highlights Rei Kawakub’s design is that everything looks extraordinarily wired and creative. When I was designing this project, I realize most of her designs were created merely fabrics but a complex pattern. So I think to create a hat with simple fabrics, but complex patterns and cuts will be interesting and fit the theme. So I designed two different sizes hat that can layer up, and able to pull part of side hat out of the outside hat, to create these interesting shapes. I chose wool as my material because Rei Kawakubu used lots of wool materials in her designs. Also wool is heavy enough to create a beautiful shape.
