For this class, fashion studies we have discussed the many aspects of the culture of fashion. Whether studied about subculture, body and image, values and much more. However, during this semester what deeply made me think was a very general question we discussed the first day of the lecture “what is fashion?” I remember back then I mentioned fashion is a wearable art and a mirror to your emotions. Still, I do agree that fashion reflects your emotion, it is very personal. For instance, during our closet interview unit, I’ve interviewed my roommate who is my best friend since childhood and during the interview of her closet, I learned so many new things about her personality through her closet and her style that I never realized since childhood. In Sophie Woodward’s article “why women wear what they wear” it is mentioned that women dress for a purpose and make their lives easier.
