We had to make circuit boards from scratch.
Using:
- A copper board
- A sharpie marker
- An LED
- Wires
- A battery
- Ferric chloride
I first started with the idea I was going to create a Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer themed circuit, with his nose to be the LED part.
It took my a little while to stylize the reindeer’s face to fit the requirement of the circuit, which was to have four unconnected islands of copper metal. I made it to be the two eyes and his nose split down the middle.
Then I transferred the sketch onto the copper board with the sharpie marker, and erased away the excess with Ferric chloride. That process was hard.
Then after figuring exactly where things get soldered. I ended up connecting the eyes to the antlers and used them to connect to power and ground of the battery. In the video, I used the Arduino Uno to run the Blink program with my circuit.
